Philo has an open process where people can suggest future shows or nominate to be a part of production teams. We want to make sure we're keeping our door open to ideas and talent in the Canberra community, and giving people opportunities to get involved and share their stories!
You can:
Suggest a show you think would be a good fit for Philo to produce,
and/or
Express interest in filling a production team role(s) on future Philo productions
Get your EOI in by 12 January!
Suggesting a show
We want to hear from our wider community about what shows they think Philo should be producing. We’ve landed on the following criteria for selecting our shows - if you think there’d be one that’s perfect for Philo, please let us know!

We want the shows we produce to be ambitious: in the stories they tell, the scale or scope of the production, or the way they engage the Canberra community.

Our shows should be accessible: they should include opportunities to showcase all aspects of musical theatre, and for people with a range of skill levels and skillsets.

We want variety: we aim to produce a range of different types of musicals, telling a variety of stories in different ways.

Our shows need to be profitable: Philo needs to make a small profit of each show to keep the lights on, so shows that put bums in seats are preferred!

Our shows need to be feasible: lots of shows present challenges, and we need to make sure those challenges can be managed before committing to a production.
Nominating for a production team
We welcome expressions of interest from members and the broader Canberra community for all roles associated with a Philo production.
We’re looking for people with vision, passion and experience, who can work well in a team and lead our productions to success. We’ll support you to create the show that’s always been in your head, learn new skills, and make new friends along the way.
