Register your EOI in joining a Canberra Philo sub-committee

Or find out more about our sub-committees:

Assets Sub-Committee

The asset management sub-committee is about all things sets, costumes and the Hut!

This sub-committee will be responsible for collecting, improving and maintaining our extensive collection of sets and costumes, along with the management of our property out in Fyshwick.

If you have a passion for organisation, or aren’t afraid to get dirty lifting set pieces or rifling through our wardrobe, this is the perfect sub-committee for you.

We also want people with ideas on how to best share our set and costume collection with the wider Canberra theatre community.

The sub-committee will involve meeting once every two months or so, with some additional effort outside of regular meetings.

Marketing Sub-Committee

Do you want to go wild with our Instagram? Are you a photoshop wizard? Do you see a good poster and squeal with joy? Then the marketing and communication sub-committee needs you!

Good marketing is essential to put bums in seats and make sure Canberra knows about our shows! The marketing and communications sub-committee will work closely with our productions to advise on marketing options for our shows, including graphic design of posters and digital assets.

We’re looking for people who can bring their personality and ideas to our wide range of communication channels – including our website, our emails, our posters and our media coverage.

The sub-committee will involve meeting once every two months or so, with some additional effort outside of regular meetings (particularly in the lead up to our shows).

Show Selection Sub-Committee

The show selection sub-committee will be responsible for recommending options for future Philo shows and production teams.

If you have strong feelings about the types of shows Philo should be producing, this is the sub-committee for you.

The show selection sub-committee will also be responsible for designing the way people can suggest shows or nominate for production teams. So if you like building processes from the ground up, this sub-committee is also for you.

The sub-committee will involve meeting once every two months or so, with some additional effort outside of regular meetings.

Social and Outreach Sub-Committee

Philo can do more than just our big musicals! If you have ideas on how Philo can hold more events that bring Canberra’s musical theatre lovers together, we want you on the social and outreach sub-committee!

The social and outreach sub-committee will be responsible for developing and implementing new ways in which Philo can continue to engage its members, and the wider community, outside of major productions.

Come to us with ideas, and we’ll give you the budget and the space to make it happen.

The sub-committee will involve meeting once every two months or so, with some additional effort outside of regular meetings (particularly in the lead up to any events the sub-committee plans).
