The second musical written by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice, audiences will find themselves tapping their feet to the disco, western, 1920's Charleston, Caribbean and Elvis-inspired songs. The show is based on the 'Coat of Many Colours' story of the Book of Genesis and tells the story of Joseph who, through the jealousy of his brothers due to his ownership of a coat given to him by his father, is sold to the Ishmaelites. As the show progresses, he moves from being held in slavery to becoming the most powerful man in Egypt second only to the Pharaoh. Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat is a light-hearted musical tale that is sure to hold a little something for everyone. Philo's production of Joseph & the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat was be performed at the Erindale Theatre from 4 March to 20 March 2010. |
